We are a family-owned business
based in Essex, England. We started designing and
manufacturing ionizers in 1977.
Our ionizers
Our high efficiency ionizers have been
developed in conjunction with a series of tests, in a specialist
environmental chamber at the University of Surrey in England.
This is the laboratory run by Dr Leslie Hawkins, famous for his work on
"sick building syndrome" who conducted various experiments
involving positive and negative ions on people
in the workplace. You will find references to his work on
this and
many other websites. The specifications of our ionizers have
been verified by Dr Hawkins himself.
Astrid ionizers are built to our very exacting standards. Each one is
thoroughly tested for both output and safety before it is despatched
and all comply with UK and European electrical interference
and
safety regulations.
